Description
The 2G DSM uses a Manifold Differential Pressure (MDP) sensor to measure the vacuum in the intake manifold. Not to be confused with a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) senosr, which measures the amount of air flowing through the intake manifold. The MDP sensors job is to measure the defference of pressure in the intake system. In the 2G DSM this information is used to monitor the EGR System. This sensor does not effect idle or any running conditions.

Modifications
This sensor port can be instead used for a MAP sensor to monitor the amount of air entering the engine when running a Speed Density setup. If you’re doing a 6 bolt swap or using any 1G head, you will find that a 1g intake manifold does not have a port for this sensor. But there are solutions to prevent throwing a check engine light. The sensor just needs to see vacuum. There was an adapter made to tap this into the brake booster hose but it doesnt appear to be available anymore. All you would need is a “T” and a few inches of hose to tap into a vacuum source and clear up that CEL.
