This is a stock 1G intake pipe, shown in red. It connects the turbo to the air filter and MAF. On the 1G DSM’s, the 1G MAF is commonly swapped out for at least a 2G MAF. When doing so, you have to use a 2G intake pipe.
Attached to the top of the intake pipe is a port where the recirculation pipe from the blow off valve connects to. There are also a few vacuum lines/hoses that connect to the intake pipe.
The stock intake pipe can be upgraded to an aluminum or hard intake pipe.
