It is not something that we view as being a practical solution, although A questions megathread was asked about before. Presently, we have Sunday a cycle of RuneScape Gold routine pinned threads which includes Silly Question. It is just scheduled for biweekly appearances, although this seems to fit that criteria. Runescape is not too large or as fast-paced as some subreddits, therefore it is possible for users to create new articles to ask questions and get replies that are sincere without overwhelming or flood our subreddit. Unlike some subreddits, it’s possible because entry frequency is lower to navigate here.
Connected to this, we do need to sticky important posts and announcement/news articles from Jagex frequently, along with the articles which are in our scheduled pins (Silly Question Sunday, Pro-Tip Tuesday, Rant Wednesday), therefore perhaps it doesn’t always match a daily pinning schedule, along with rendering the present Silly Question Sunday series obsolete. Developing a daily megathread for queries may give the impression that consumers are not permitted to create posts to ask questions regarding Runescape, which isn’t an opinion that we support or encourage. Post filtering is not practical on Reddit for regular article viewing, therefore it may seem overwhelming for many users to find every post at a subreddit flowing through a feed.
(Post flairs do somewhat help with this.) This number induces some posts to be overlooked while some reach /hot, since they’re seldom highly upvoted, and a vast majority of query articles don’t reach hot here. 1 side of not utilizing a megathread is that this enables these articles to get the opportunity to be searched for when someone has a question later on. Searching by title for articles, and Looking for comments on Reddit is difficult may yield results which deters someone. And of course, a part of questions may be answered on the RuneScape Wiki, which is often referred to in the comments.
The volume of query posts here doesn’t appear to represent an overwhelming amount that would justify a daily series of recurring stickies. Perhaps we can increase the frequency of Question Sunday from biweekly to weekly? This also arouses the question of, is the role of wanting a megathread to further assist players who have queries, or will it be to conceal these queries from gamers who do not want to see them’s view?

In addition, I have some ideas concerning the sub moderators: create a bot that replies to any thread with”OSRS” or”oldschool runescape” on the title with a URL into the 2007 Runescape sub, so they can now know that there’s two RuneScape subs, there is a great deal of clueless people who post here believing that is actually the OSRS sub simply to get mass downvoted.
