Maps are no longer split into regions with PSO2 Meseta loading screens. NG is going to have a completely open world in the home base to the field. The TGS footage showed a beautiful new world that is a significant update from the current game. Arai cites that distinct areas can be reached easily by simply traversing the world. It looks like that is the world Naberious from the present game, with forests being next to tundra and other regions. Areas are still technically divided up, but there’s no loading between these. While it has not been straight said, an open world like this suggests there may not be single party places anymore. Most shown in the footage were multi-party areas in which there were other gamers. The cap for multi-party places continues to be reduced to eight down from twelve in the present PSO2, but that you see will differ from area to area.
Weather is making a better comeback as it changes dynamically and can impact the battlefield, although the size of the effect wasn’t spoken of. Time may also change, and footage showed some nice touches like fireflies in the forests at night. There’s no word on fast travel, vehicles or mounts nevertheless, but Sega has implemented some new methods for players to move fast across this large new world. Players will be able to run faster after a dodge both in and out of combat. A blue streak follows underfoot, so you’ll know you are doing it right when you see it.
The other significant addition to motion shown off in the first NG trailer is that the slide. It goes as far as some of the screenshots have made it seem. Players may get to high ground and leap off to slide and get pretty damn much across the map. Like in Breath of the Wild, you’ll be able to make you are way up a mountain to slide off from — but without anything inhibiting you enjoy endurance. It’ll also cause some dramatic entrances in to battle. Sega already stated that gathering and crafting could be getting an overhaul, and while we didn’t get a look at crafting, we did see how much nicer it would be to snag items in the field. Gathering can be performed on the fly, very similar to Monster Hunter: World. Get close to a product, and tap a button. Fruit can be picked from trees, you will find new docile creatures which can be searched for meat and other things and healing items can be found through the property as green luminous indicators called Resta Signals. It is much more intuitive than the present game.
Combat Is Quite like PSO2’s current battle system, down to the firearms, Photon Arts and Photon Blasts. It’s only quicker, more mobile and smoother. You will find no more Perfect Attacks; rather, it’s more like modern action games with combos and counterattacks. Dodging and obstructing is liquid for all classes also. Certain classes may see a difference in drama. There’s no longer attacking from the air indefinitely, so expect to be on the floor more dodging and countering. Attacks and PAs are set the same manner they are now with specific buttons performing particular strikes or the 1-2-3 system. As far as PB’s go, since Mag’s won’t be part of gameplay , they behave more like Sophisticated Photon Arts, which were introduced in Japan’s PSO2 with Episode 6. As opposed to cheap meseta pso2 summoning a monster, PB’s will instead be a huge attack coping serious harm that should be recharged through battle.
