  • Over the years as people have attempted to use a 2G Blackbox ECU or an Evo 8 ECU in their DSM, people have asked a lot of questions regarding the flash port. How to hook it up, what is it, what pin do you wire it […]

  • This is a short tutorial on how to install ECUflash. ECUflash is a free program that allows you to tune using either a 2G Blackbox ECU or an Evo 8 ECU. A proper install is crucial as you will have problems reading […]

  • I had to yank a pin out of an ECU connector today so I could add a pin to the ECU connector in my 2G for my flash port (using a blackbox ECU), so I thought I would make a little guide on how to do it. It is a very […]

  • AN Size Information

AN Measurements are very simple to figure out. You take an AN designation, put it over 16 in a fraction form, then reduce the fraction and it gives you the inch size form. Using -4 AN as an […]

  • Introduction

I use an Evo 8 ECU in my 1G and have previously used a 2G Black Box ECU in #VirginMary. I have a lot of experience with ECUflash, EVOscan, and these H8 ECU’s. And, I love them. There aren’t that […]

  • When I first bought this thing, I said that I would leave it mostly stock and not delete much on it. I guess that was a very vague statement. This car will forever be a daily driver so it’s not like I will be […]

    • Do you have any advice where to relocate the battery in a 420a? There’s no space under the tray because of the gear box. I saw already some pics of 420as with “vanished” battery and I thought it’s moved already into the trunk as no many other place can be used for. THX

    • I don’t have much input on the 420A battery relocation, but I would imagine most people just relocate it to the hatch.

  • In my opinion, the absolute most ugliest, embarrassing, unattractive eyesore on any car, especially a DSM, is wheel gap. I for one can NOT stand wheel gap. #Charlotte, was mostly stock when I scooped her up about […]

    • Checking and counting the residual space of the interior of Virgin Mary it’s a miracle that you’re alive.
And her further life is also a miracle by “donating” her engine and springs and whatever parts you could already use as donor part. Seems to me Charlotte and Poison Ivy are becoming the worthy sucessor of Virgin Mary. Take care, keep it real, go ahead! šŸ™‚

    • Yeah, there sure are a lot of parts from Virgin Mary that are going into Poison Ivy and Charlotte. It’s pretty amazing. The engine, BOV, clutch line, ss front brake lines, slave cylinder, hell, even a tail light bulb came out of Mary and into Ivy. Now with this 2G, the springs and rear struts went into Charlotte. I’m sure there will be even more stuff being donated from Mary yet.

    • Lol i’ve thought about it. But it’s definitely only going to be going into another Kona Blue 95 TSi, if anything.

  • Poison Ivy recently developed a clutch problem. Allegedly, a spring on my pressure plate either popped out or got damaged. I believe the whole thing stemmed from my transmission bolts backing out. Of course I […]

  • Though I have yet to build a 2.4L engine using the 4G64 block with the 4G63 head, it has always been a huge interest of mine and is high up on the bucket list. The biggest advantage of running a 2.4L compared to […]

    • Hi, I’ve been doing alot of research as to the 4g64 block with the 4g63 head. The thing I would like to know, if anyone has some insight, is if it is possible with an automatic transmission. I have a 03 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4 and an wondering if it’s possible. Thank you.

      • A 3G Eclipse is a completely different thing. There are similarities I am sure but many many differences also. I wouldn’t know the specifics.

    • I just bought a 92 Mighty Max bone stock 4g64 sohc. i was wondering if its possible to swap the head on it to dohc and keep it N/A. and when you refer to 1g and 2g does that mean generation? Sorry for the dumb questions, im a honda guy and just got into this truck.

    • Yes it is possible and you are correct, 1G and 2G refer to the generation. 1G is 90-94 and 2G is 95-99.

      • Spooligan thanks for the great info
        I have a 1991 mighty max 5 speed
4g64b wideblock. Was wondering if it would be the same to swap the 4g63 head to the soch 4g64b. Since my valves went bad either fix the block or try to 4g63 head swap it.

        • I don’t personally have any experience with the MM 4G engine, but the DOHC 4G63 head swap should be pretty straight forward and will share some similarities with the DOHC 4G64 head swap.

        • The early 6 bolt 4G64 motors don’t need to plug anything on the head surface like the 2g 7 bolt spyder motors, a lot of people don’t even know that they can get a 4G64 6 bolt motor and the article above is mostly dealing with a 2g spyder 4G64 7 bolt motor.

        • Hola!Es posible poner tambiĆ©n a este bloque con la cabeza de evo 4-9? Saludos!

    • Were you able to complete the swap and follow through with all the additions? I’m currently going through a project of my own and am slowly getting together all the tools and equipment necessary to make the head swap. I’m also doing a rebuild in the process of it all so I’m taking a few more steps but I just want to know if it all worked out for you? I also have been looking at 96-99 DOHC heads to make the swap. I guess I’m curious about how the 94 Galant pieces fit…..Let me know
