I can’t stress how important it is to NEVER under any circumstances use an auto tensioner from the parts store. I found out the hard way back in 2012 after doing a 6 bolt swap in my 2G.
I bought the auto […]

A manual boost controller (MBC) is one of the first modifications done on the turboed DSM’s. This is the reason I decided to do this write up.
What does a manual boost controller do? Easy. It allows you to r […]

If you even start to think about modding your DSM, whether it be a 4g63 or a 420a, you should put some time into thinking about a tuning solution. Now, I know there are many choices and you can easily get […]

Hello, I run dsmecu.com. We still do eprom tuning and don’t use a burner/chips. Moates.net makes an eprom emulator that basically turns the oem 1g ecu into a “stand alone” that you can control in real time. I think DSMLink came along with this feature years after others had been using it and called it “direct access tables”.
Anyway, good article. I wouldn’t classify Jackal as a piggy back though because it doesn’t actually intercept any signals, it’s modifying them on the ecu in real time like a standalone does.

I wanted to write about basic steps when starting WOT tuning. I’ve been asked a lot about it so I figured it was time for a write up. This is very simple to do.
First, there are things you need to verify […]

Many of us 2G guys like to put a 1G CAS in our 2G’s. Whether it be due to the fact that the 1G CAS is adjustable or for the simplicity of replacing the CAS. Especially the 2Ga guys that don’t have a CAS on the […]

Next up is all the wiring work. It took a while and was a long process. I think the results were well worth it. I loomed it all up with braided sleeving after I completely depinned everything I didn’t want/not […]

I haven’t done a whole lot in the last couple of days. I did however put my SS braided front brake lines (from the 2G) and non-ABS proportioning valve on. Looks pretty good. I didn’t connect them to the calipers […]

Didn’t get any parts in the mail today but I was able to finish painting the engine bay. It turned out awesome! I can’t wait to start seeing the bay come together once I start bolting things in!
